the CONCEPT
The Mission
I first met this couple a few years back, I went and did the initial design consultation, we went back and forward with designs and prices, then they decided to hold off.
Fast forward to present day, we’d just finished a pool opposite them, they called out of the blue wanting to move forward.
The Details
They had a giant slope that took up 50% of the yard, so the first order of business was to deal with that. We used a raised bond beam and retaining walls to push it back.
The Challenge (because there always is one)
The challenge? Rock, all of the rock, I don’t think we’ve ever had a harder excavation. Turns out blue granite is very very hard, and difficult to remove. Took us nearly a week to complete an excavation which normally would have been a day.
